Who we are
Gordies Foundation was created in honor of Gordie, turning the pain of losing a son to violent crime into a mission of hope. For over 20 years we’ve served communities on Chicago’s south and west sides.
What we do
We exist to help Black communities overcome both real and perceived barriers—economic disinvestment, violence, and limited access to technology and skilled training. Our programs focus on:
- STEM Lab: Exposure to science, technology, engineering, and math so students can access high-paying careers.
- Coaching & Counseling: Healing from trauma, building self-worth, and navigating conflict.
- Economic & Workforce Development: Skills, training, and opportunities that open doors to stable employment.
Our mission
Our mission is to end intentional and perpetual violence, poverty, and unemployment in the Black community through education, technology, training, spiritual growth, and career development.
